Top Ten New To Me Authors That Made Me Feel EVERYTHING in 2016 (TTT #19)

HI GUYS! College started again, and I totally finished all my assignments for the week when they announced that our Chief Minister has tragically passed away. Colleges have been closed for the next three days, and with the mourning and chaos on the streets, we are literally under house arrest.

So, I have nothing to do but read and watch TV, and maybe the silver lining will be that I get to (hopefully) make some headway on my TBR!

I have read SO SO many WONDERFUL BOOKS from even AWESOMER authors this year, that I find it EXTREMELY hard to narrow the list down to just 10, but here we go!
*Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies over at The Broke And The Bookish
 1. Alwyn Hamilton, Author Of Rebel In The Sands

I got to read Rebel in The Sands by the WONDERFUL Alwyn Hamilton earlier this year, despite the fact that it hasn't yet released in India thanks to the Guardian.

Amani, the Main Character in this book is BADASS and SASSY and POWERFUL and the next Aelin/ Celaena Sardothein. I LOVED this book, the author (and it's cover) and I'm SO GLAD I read it.

I got offered review copies of this series when I hadn't even heard of it, but it sounded good, and so I accepted. In short, THIS IS EVERYTHING you've ever been missing!

In a post apocalyptic world, there is an ancient game at play. Teens Gifted by the Gods, to play a game with life or death stakes with immortality as the prize, all based off of Tarot Cards. There are four books out so far, and they will make you fall and fall HARD.
3. Victoria Schwab, Author Of This Savage Song

A MORDERN DAY ROMEO AND JULIET, WITH MONSTERS, MUSIC AND HUMAN SINS? CAN I HEAR A HELL YES?

Despite the fact that I own the first two books of another of VE Schwab's series', A Darker Shade of Magic and A Gathering of Shadows, I dove into this one first and I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL. Schwab is a BEAUTIFUL writer, and I can't wait to finally open ADSOM!

4. Jay Kristoff, Author Of Nevernight

Again, despite the fact that I already owned Illuminae AND Gemina, I dove into the BEAUTIFUL and BLOODY Nevernight before the previous two. I seriously owe it to the wonderful folks over at Harper Collins for giving me this book because it was AAAAH.

Filled with assassins and being ruthless and ALL THINGS AWESOME, Jay Kristoff really manages to capture the essence of a new world.
 5. Shannon Parker, author of The Girl Who Fell

Want to know how EASY it is to get into a relationship that may not be entirely healthy? Want to see it from the point of view of you friends who 'changed'? The Girl Who Fell is a beautifully written, VERY IMPORTANT book that will leave you remembering its characters long after it's over.

Shannon Parker herself is SUCH a sweetheart, and sent me a signed copy of her book.

6. Sona Charaipotra And Dhonielle Clayton, Authors Of Tiny Pretty Things

I've never really been into ballet, but after the recommendation of a trusted Blogger friend, and Harper India sending me a review copy, I started reading Tiny Pretty Things. Filled with ballet, loyalty, friendship and desire, this book will have you HOOKED.

Both authors manage to REALLY delve on to question - how far would you go to get what you want?
 7. Taran Matharu, Author Of The Summoner Series

Demons, politics, race, war, country, friendship, equality, power. Wattpad Sensation Taran Matharu is on AMAZING writer managing to combine some really great elements and even better characters into a beautiful trilogy that I can't get enough of.

I'm so excited for the final installment, The Battlemage, next May, and the new prequel series coming after. EEEK.

7. Laure Eve, Author Of The Graces

Truth be told, this book surprised me. A beautiful interpretation on magical interpretation, want, power, popularity and family, with a beautiful cover and an even more mysterious writing style, Laure Eve's book is TRULY a masterpiece.

I've already bought her other series, Fearsome Dreamer, and I hope I love it as much as The Graces.
 9. Kendare Blake, author of Three Dark Crowns

As SOON as I read the description for Three Dark Crowns, I knew it was right up my alley. Three sisters, each with different magical powers (one naturalist, one poisoner, one elementalist) need to kill each other until there is only one True Queen left standing.

Despite the fact that Kendare Blake has one more series already released, this is so much more up my alley and I AM SO EXCITED for the sequel!

I began reading Louise O'Neill's Books all the way back in January and they are HEARTBREAKING. Both of her books deal with some of the most real issues in today's world - Rape and Body Image - and they were SPECTACULARLY done.

Both of them had me shaking with anger, as well as reaching for tissues, and I cannot WAIT to read more.
Are any of these authors ones you read and fell in love with this year too?
Have you already read any of their other books?
What are the authors on your list this fine Tuesday?
I can't wait to talk to you!
